Preschool Teacher (Oakland, CA)

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Preschool teacher to join our team! We are a Reggio inspired preschool and have great outdoor space for encouraging lots of experiences for nature inspired teaching. The ideal candidate has a great love and patience for children at all developmental stages and is inspired by empowering children and co-teachers through excellent experiences. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage children and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child through exploring their interests.


Responsibilities


Participation in development of creative curricular program for children ages 2-5, designed to develop children's artistic and practical capabilities

Use observational skills to build daily/weekly and monthly curriculum that deepens children's natural curiosity and interests.

Track children’s progress and report to parents including regular documentation of class activities and projects.

Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Skills


Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher. Reggio experience and flexibility in teaching style is a plus.

Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children

Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem

Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods

Familiarity with current Covid-19 safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms

Have effective communication skills, excellent writing skills and good visualization skills.

Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable

Certification in child CPR

BS/BA in education or relevant field is a plus (MUST have at least 12 ECE units)

Associate (Preferred)

Experience:


Childcare: 1 year (Required)

License/Certification:


CPR Certification (Preferred)

CDA Certification or a minimum of 12 units (Required)
